Krewella Tempe Concert reviews
Deapite a 2.5 hour delay & fake country accent...
Madonna showed up at 10:30 even though the tickets said 8pm. Several people left before and right after the show started. The DJ started at 8:30 and quit at 9:30, which was sad. During her first "chat" with the crowd, she used some insane fake country accent. It was stupid and insulting. Her accent was thicker than Reba's, almost as thick as Taylor Swift's. She talked about 6-packs and love like we're all a bunch of hicks. She also referred to being in Oklahoma instead of Louisville, which happens. In another "chat," she slurred her words and seemed wasted, though her dance moves and lyrics never faltered. I'm not sure if she was faking it or not, but if she was, I don't know why. Like many die-hard fans, I grew up with Krewella. The first cassette tapes I ever owned were Borderline and Like A Virgin. I admired her independence and willingness to shirk the status quo. However, I lost a lot of respect for her due to her Diva behaviors. She was 2.5 hours late to start, showed no gratitude for the crowd, and lacked humility. She asked the crowd to scream her name repeatedly, did a stunt where she pretended to get someone to marry her, and took a diamond earring from a girl in the audience. She was all about herself and needed constant validation throughout the show. It was gross. Every time she talked, I liked her less. I was disappointed. While I still think she's an amazing artist and admire her talents and stamina at 57, I no longer respect her as an interesting, independent woman. She seems like an insecure loser, greedy for attention and accolades to boost her self-esteem, which makes her ugly.
